AN EVIL WITCH
let it tangle
her tongue
let her tongue
be tangled
undo her
wicked spell
her knots
are undone.
pain writhes.
i am writhing
it must end.
i cannot
promise my-
self to myself
a cool hand
a cool hand
promises
her hands
are stained
with flesh +
blood ‘i can
suckle. ‘let me
nurse.’ furious
her hands

For weeks,
there is blood.
When I emerge
I wear a red
dress.
I take too
much ibuprofen
and wound
my stomach.
